Hello Vivek,

See there is no percentage criteria to appear for JEE-Main but it is required for admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs and as per current criteria the 75% criteria has been waived off and now you only need to pass in class 12th so as you have passed in class 12th so you are definitely eligible for admission as well as for JEE-Main and if you qualify JEE-Main then you can definitely appear for JEE-Advance through which you can get admission in IIT Bombay or any other IITs depending upon your JEE-Advance rank but note that  there are some criterion which you need to satisfy in order to appear for JEE-Main so let us discuss them.

JEE-Main eligibility criteria is mentioned below :-

1--- Age criteria :- There is no age limit to appear in JEE-Main but note that there might be the age limit in any particular institution taking admission through JEE-Main score, so you should keep this thing in mind.

2--- Qualifying Examination :- To be eligible for JEE-Main one should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from any of the recognized central or state board.

3--- Year of qualification :- For JEE-Main 2022 only those candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or 2022; or those who will be appearing in Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2022, would be eligible to appear.

So if you follow all above criterion then you are definitely eligible for JEE-Main.

sir, mera iit bombay mein prepatory electricals mein selection ho gaya hai, mujhe prepatory course kaha se karna hoga, iit bombay ya iit gandhinagar

thakurvishesh1 27th Jun, 2022

See, preparatory courses are offered to those student who the IITs think that if we invest an year on these students, then these students may perform very well if they are admitted in the normal B.Tech programmes offered by the various IITs. So, if you have been selected by IIT Bombay in the preparatory course, then you'll have to do your course from IIT Bombay itself, and not IIT Gandhinagar.

Hope I have answered your question. All the best!

what is the mark required to enter into IIT Bombay?

Piyush kesarwani 23rd Jun, 2022

hello aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned your category, I am considering you as a GENERAL Category Student. Looking at the previous year JEE advance Cutoff, in order to get into IIT Bombay, your Rank must be within 250 in JEE advance to get the top branches in IIT BOMBAY. And you must have a marks of around 200+ in JEE Advance to get into IIT BOMBAY.

Further, please note that the above prediction is totally based on the previous year JEE advance Cutoff which may vary this year as the Cutoff are bound to change every year. THE JEE ADVANCE Cutoff depends on various factors like : Previous year Cutoff trends, Difficulty level of the paper, number of aspirants appearing, etc/

Further, to know more about the JEE Advance Cutoff for previous years, you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff

Also you can follow the JEE advance College predictor tool to know more about your chances to any IIT : https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-advanced-college-predictor

Why all Jee Advanced toppers are interested to Join in IIT Bombay for CSE , Why dont they join in IIT Madras. IIT Madras Nirf 1 , IIT Bombay Nirf 3. Why dont they join in IITM ?

Ayush 17th Jun, 2022

Hello student,

First of all, it's the first choice of individual student to go for their topic of interest if we have got the respective rank, according to their interest. On the other hand, each of the the colleges have some streams which have a better performance as compared to the counterparts. So, from the last few years, it's been a common trend that toppers generally opt for IITB as their first choice option, but it doesn't make other colleges less important and it's just a matter of interest.

which is better aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay or computer science from IIT Jodhpur?????

Chinmayee Satapathy 16th Jun, 2022

Hello candidate!

It completely depends upon your interest and which branch you want to go for. Campus and placement wise, IIT Bombay is older and well-established but in India, scope for Aerospace engineering is not much but it is a very good branch. Computer Science from IT Jodhpur is a great choice too considering there are many opportunities currently in that field. So any IIT you choose according to your interest, you'll get great faculty, campus and job opportunities.

Hope this helps.
