Admission to all the 23 IITs be it IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi is done on the basis of rank secured in JEE Advance. To appear for JEE Advance a candidate need to qualify JEE Main. After you qualify JEE Mains and secure a good rank in JEE Advance

Your Statements seems to be  contradictory. I may be wrong but as far as i know you can't do Mtech in Aerospace by Appearing and scoring for GATE in ME.

If you wanted to do Mtech in Aerospace then you should have opted Aerospace Engineering (AE) Paper instead

The written exam is of 3 hours duration. It consisted of 3 section; General Aptittude & Computer Programming, Mathematics & the GATE syllabus of EC. the questions are MCQs and numerical type.
