I think no IIT's provides Automobile Engineering directly but you can join there dual degree course. IITs don't offer highly specialized courses like automobile engineering, mechatronics because there is nothing more than core engineering you need to do that stuff.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

applied mathematics and engineering physics are good branches if you have interest in maths or physics respectively and want to go for higher studies.
economics is a good branch and is growing in India.
Civil branch has less placement but if you want to choose college over branch

Branch upgradation completely depends upon your CGPA. After the end of the first two semesters, the board may give you permission to upgrade your branch. The number of people applied, the number of vacancies these two factors always work. So the more you'll score, the better will be the

For IIT Bombay, the CSE branch cut off for SC category last year was 14 (SC rank). For IIT Delhi, the opening rank was 16 and closing was 31 last year. IIT Madras had opening rank of 13 and closing at 31. IIT Kharagpur had opening rank of 23
Unlessyou have special interset in electrical i would prefer iit bombay.
There are many advantages. IITB has more better and flexible academics, it has more options in placements, location wise also IITB is much better than IITM. It has weather advantage too, IITB's culture is mature , there is nothing

The closing rank of BS Economics last year in IIT Bombay was 2088.
The closing rank of BS Economics last year in IIT Kanpur was 2718.
The closing rank of MSc Economics last year in IIT Kharagpur was 4499.
