If you are from General Category then you are not eligible for NIT in case you are from reserved category then you have chances.

For admissions to NITs-

You need to have secured minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile

If you compare IIT with BITS then IIT has a better ranking. However, BITS is also a good college which gives its students very promising career opportunities.

It is more about which college you can get. As there is a very tough competition. Even if you can't get

You need to apply for IIT JEE Entrance Exam if you wish to take admission in IITs, NITs. As per the official AICTE or State board of technical education recognised Diploma of at least 3 years duration student can apply for IIT JEE Entrance Exam.

To get admission in IIT, you need to firstly clear JEE Mains & then JEE Advance.

As per the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria,

AICTE or State board of technical education recognised Diploma of at least 3 years duration are eligible for JEE Mains.
