Hi, Sujitha please let me know your rank for a detailed discussion on your available options. With General Category and 2246 AIR rank you will surely get admission in NIT though not in IIT.

For admission in M.Sc. in Any IIT, your rank must be below 450. With this rank, you can't get into IITs as per previous year closing rank, 431 was closing rank for IIT Bhuvaneshwar that too for Atmosphere and ocean science stream. For admission in M.Sc. Physics ,
