Indian Institute of Technology
You are getting CSE in IIT Roopar. See there is nothing like chance reduced due to choice filling or preference order. When you have locked your choices and when seat allocation process begin then your first priority is considered the best for you and if your rank is sufficient for it you will be allocated the same. And if in case your rank is not sufficient then your second priority is considered and then your third and the process continues. So if you have put CSE Roopar at top and IIT Hyderabad after it then if you are allocated IIT Roopar first then you will not be allocated IIT Hyderabad in subsequent round because it is below the college allocated earlier. So fill your choices wisely. Hello,
Both the colleges are good in academics while IIT Hyderabad has comparability better in placement.
I would suggest to choose IIT Hyderabad because it is one among the 2nd generation of IITs started by the Govt. of India.
Over the branch, chose the branch according to your area of interest.
Hopes it helps you,
All the best for your future!
Hi Vaidesh,
Although it dpeends on your area of interest, I would suggest you to ahead with CSE because it has a greater scope than Civil unless you wish to join government jobs.
CSE in JNTU is very good and if you follow: https://www.careers360.com/colleges/jntuh-college-of-engineering-hyderabad/placement
you will find that CSE placement is almost 100% while that of Civil is around 60%.
Also the median package is around 6lpa which is geniunely good.
It ultimately depends upon you and your dedication which will bring you success not just which stream you take.

IIT Indore CSE has better Faculty, Infrastructure and outlook than IIT Dhanbad CSE. IIT Dhanbad is mainly famous for its Chemical, Mining and Geological Branches.Though you might find Placements at both IITs companies, but as far as computer science and circuital branches are concerned, IIT Indore is much ahead than most of the newer IITs.
The median packages lie anywhere between 15-22 LPA at IIT Indore .Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Google, Flipkart and Uber are regular recruiters at IIT Indore. Secondly the peer environment and competition is very good in IIT Indore CSE, and you will meet and learn brilliant coders and developers on campus.

I believe you should prefer IIT Bombay Metallurgical Engineering over Chemical at IITM and IIT Roorkee Civil. Of course only if IIT Madras is at vicinity of your hometown, do prefer that over IITB Metallurgical.
Placements and Research Prospects are not much of a concern when it comes to the top 5 IITs.
Metallurgical Engineering is perhaps the oldest and the newest branch of engineering in todays date. IIT Bombay Metallurgical Engineering ranks among the top 100 Global institutions in fields of Material Science according to QS Rankings. Companies like Tata Steel, Reliance, P&G, Airbus, TSMC and Applied Materials are regular recruiters at IIT Bombay Metallurgical Engineering.
Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras is too, a preferable choice. Companies visiting campus include Unilever, ITC, Dr Reddys and P&G.
Overall Materials and Chemical Engineers are required for functioning of any Core Manufacturing Industry. Both the branches refer to the Chemical Sciences arm of Engineering and have a huge scope in training , research and placements.Secondly both the above branches are very student friendly and have a structured curriculum which helps you to give time to your interests and practice technologies like AI, Software and Machine Learning besides keeping up with the core course. You might end up going for a Masters to the United States, might become an Operations Executive at a conglomerate like Tata or Vedanta or may become a Business Analyst or Software Engineer at an MnC like Amazon or RazorPay. Overall an IIT provides you with sea of opportunities and possibilities. Its your responsibility to cultivate your interests and nurture them to expertise.

Hello Student,
Assuming it is a typo that you have mentioned IIT Hyderabad instead of IIIT Hyderabad since IIITs do not offer chemical engineering. Then EEE at IIT Dhanbad would be a better choice since EEE is a more in demand course with higher number of opportunities. Since both of them are IITs they are of the top institutions in the country. IIT Dhanbad is one of the oldest and hence it would be preferred. You can consider the following factors before choosing it.
Infrastructure and college life:
IIT Dhanbad has a good infrastructure with well equipped labs and classrooms. Hostels are pretty decent and nice environment is always maintained. You can see that the campus life is going to be really well. College life is good with the right kind of atmosphere given to the students who come from different places.
Fa culty and quality of education:
All the faculties are qualified and experienced over here. And education, curriculum is made in such a way that students are made to acquire more hands on knowledge than just the theory. It is not just the books and classes. Focuses more on practical knowledge than the theoretical one. Education quality and the way guidance is given is really good.
Placements:
Placements are good as good companies visit this college. students gets placed and opportunities of internship is provided to the students from companies.
According to our website, It is a very good rated one.

Mathematics and Computing is a good course although not as much as in demand as for CSE. Since they are top ranked universities in the nation and there is not exactly much of a difference in the quality of education since they will be given maximum attention and facilities. But due to the ranking of various factors I would suggest this university. It all comes down to your choice of course. IF you are choosing to take CSE, you can take CSE BTech in IIT Bhubaneshwar since you can choose your specialisation to take MTech later. But if you plan on taking Mathematics and Computing, then you can take IIT Kanpur since it is a higher ranked university.
And it also matters that what is your personal choice of course since they are different departments.
Here are the other factors to consider this college:
IIT Kanpur has a good infrastructure with well equipped labs and classrooms. Hostels are pretty decent and nice environment is always maintained. You can see that the campus life is going to be really well. College life is good with the right kind of atmosphere given to the students who come from different places.
