For qualifying for jee advanced last year the cutoff percentile was 89 for general. And in case of board cutoff one need 75 +% in boards or be in top 20 percentile of board. So  if you are not from CBSE board then you can check for top 20

Hello,

You need to qualify GATE with a satisfactory score, for getting admission in IIT or NITs for MTech program. However there are other ways to get into IIT as well.

If you have a CGPA of 8 and higher in BTech, then you'll have to give written test followed

Accoriding to the JEE Mains eligibility criteria, you need to clear 10+2 or equivalent in 2018 or 2019 to appear for JEE Mains. Candiddates appearing for 12th boards in 2020 can also apply. There is no age limit as such.

As per the academics and faculty IIT Madras is considered to be the best institute to pursue any course of Mechanical Engineering. If we see facilities and the labs IIT Kharagpur comes out to be the best. As, both are IIT's it does not matters a lot.
