If you want to pursue 3-year Degree program of Bachelor of Law(Hons. or in short LLB from IIT Kharagpur then you should know that IIT Kharagpur directly does not offer this program but there is a Law school named Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) which works under IIT System and comes under IIT Kharagpur, so you can pursue LLB from this school and to get into it one should clear the eligibility criteria setup by the law school for LLB Course which is described below :-

Candidate should have first Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or equivalent OR First Class Master's Degree in Science or Pharmacy or equivalent OR First Class MBA Degree with any of the above and along with this the requisite qualifying marks are CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60% marks for GE/OBC candidates (these are CGPA 6.0 and 55% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates). Got 78.07% in CAT 2020. OBC-NCL. 59.88%ile in VARC, >65%ile in LRDI and >85%ile quant. Btech IIT Kanpur 67%, Mtech IIT Kharagpur 87.1%. No work ex, 2 years gap between Btech and Mtech. Which new, old IIMs, other colleges should I apply for? Please help, I have no idea about their process and all.

Anurag Khanna 4th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See according to your category and percentile in CAT you have no chances to get call from any of the IIMs because top IIMs such as IIM A,B,C and so on call the candidates having more than 99 percentile and good academic records and even those seven baby IIMs also have their shortlisting cut-offs around 92-95 percentile but on such percentile you have some chances to get seat in some B-Schools other than IIMs like :-

  • Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
  • Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore
  • Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow & Jaipur
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile Management, Coimbatore
  • Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai
  • Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur
  • Christ University, Bangalore
  • FMS, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad
  • IBS Business School, Hyderabad
  • National Institute of Technology, Warangal
  • BIMTECH, Greater Noida
  • Lovely Professional University, Phagwara
  • VIT Business School, Vellore

But also note that for shortlisting of candidates for WAT/GD-PI if there is in the B-School admission process then your academic performance and diversity also comes into play means your academic performance in class 10th and 12th, his graduation percentage, graduation background and Job experience is also considered for admission to IIMs and other B-Schools in India.

To check the cut-off for above mentioned B-schools and complete list of other colleges which you can get on such percentile, kindly check out the link given below :-

my one brother wants to pursue his study in iit instituions. pls tell me how is iit Kharagpur and iit delhi in case of faculty and placement.

ankanghosh010 10th Nov, 2020

Dear aspirants,

If your brother has achieved a very good rank in JEE ADVANCE congratulations, you can get admission to IIT kharagpur as well as IIT delhi if your brother rank matches the cut-off marks. In case of faculties both the colleges are best as ex-IIT faculties teaches in NPTEL so no need to worry about that, also they provide live projects opportunities to students and internship facilities from 2nd year too which far better than a private college.

Hope his career would be in great hands.

the placements there are awesome with 34lpa the recent highest. and the environment is great too. so if you get it, then take it without any second thought. you wont regret it. i mean electronics and ece are awesome there.

so all of your options are great, so if you get any one of these, choose it right away without any hesitation.
