Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
If you are a general candidate and your annual parental income is more than 6 lakhs and you do not have the Economically Weaker Section or EWS quota, then the fees which you'll be paying at IIT Delhi will be as follows:
Caution Money (One Time, Refundable) 6,000
One Time Fees 5,800
Tuition Fee (per Semester) 1,00,000
Other fees (per Semester) 3,850
Annual Fees 800
Total 1,16,450
Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
See, the true reality is that the National Institute of Technologies (NITs) which are situated in the North-East of our country (Assam, Sikkim, Mizoram, Meghalaya etc.) they do not have a very impressive infrastructure, and many labs are make-shift labs with no permanent construction.
So, yes it is true that you'll have to go to IIT KGP for some things but that's perfectly fine. Being an NIT, it will always uplift your CV no matter what, so I think that you should definitely go for it!
Definitely, each year many people switch their field of interest and take up a different branch in MTech than what they took in B.Tech. The only thing which you'll have to do is that clear the paper of GATE in EC and prepare well for the interviews, as the professors will be hell bent on knowing that why you want to switch you field, so keep your answer ready for these. Other than these you'll be good to go.
All the best!
Yes absolutely. IIT Kharagpur offers Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Operation & Management (PGDMOM) in the fields of:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering etc.
Moreover, the candidate must have MEO Class 1 certificate issued by the government of India. If all the above criteria are satisfied by you, you can pursue PGDMOM in IIT Kgp.
Hi Anjana,
Both the IITs are very well reputed and has very good opportunities for the courses being offered here. I fact the insitittes are very old and has a good alumni records.
But if we select only one from both of these then I would suggest you to go with IIT Kharagpur. The reason is because of its reputation and very good placement records.
If you are comfortable with accommodation and location then this will be one of the best options for you.
The highest package being offered here was 1.5 crores that was an integration offer but still the records are mind blowing here.
IIT BHU js also good but IIT kharagpur is more better in every aspects such as location, accommodation, crowd, acadmekcs etc
Hope this helps you.
Thank you!!!
Hello Aspirant,
For IIT Kharagpur there is no requirement of JEE-Main score because is based on the JEE-Advance score but to sit for JEE-Advance you need to qualify JEE-Main and JEE-Main qualifying cut-off is released along with the result of both the sessions of JEE-Main 2022.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-
==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile
==>> GEN-EWS - 66.2214845-87.8950071 Percentile

You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff
As we go through the latest cut-off of 2021 then it shows that the closing PwD rank was 19 for CSE branch in IIT Kharagpur.
See it is quite difficult to tell you about exact marks to score because for JEE-Advance no maximum marks are fixed but yes with regards to JEE-Advance 2022 if you secure your PwD rank in JEE-Advance under top 15 then there are good chances for you to get CSE branch in IIT Kharagpur .

Hi,
In my opinion, you should go for IIT Kanpur.
The Aerospace Engineering department at IITK has four subsections- Aerodynamics, Flight dynamics and control, Structures and Propulsion. Each subsection has their own computational and experimental laboratories. Various laboratories in Aero IITK are: Computational Fluid Dynamics Lab, Computational Structures Lab, Computational Flight Machanics , Computational Propulsion, Virtual Instrumentation Lab, Unsteady Aerodynamics Lab, High Speed Aerodynamics Lab, Propulsion Lab, UAV and MAV laboratories, Advanced Structures and Materials Lab, Structural Analysis Lab. Besides, we are the only IIT to have a large closed circuit Wind Tunnel . We also have open circuit wind tunnels meant for UG lab courses and High speed wind tunnel with design Mach number as high as 2–2.5 . Thus, Aerospace Engineering is a great place to explore your research potentials. You can even get a few papers published in respected journals in your Undergraduate programs if you work hard enough.
As far as foreign universities are concerned, great many students from our department go for summer internships and higher studies abroad. I have many friends from my batch alone who are doing their summer internships abroad in US, Russia, France, Italy. Even I am an SN Bose Scholar doing my summer Internship at University of Southern California this summer. Many of my seniors have gone for MS and PhD programs to esteemed Universities like University of Maryland, Stanford, John Hopkins, Purdue, Georgia Tech and so on. Getting into foreign universities entirely depends on how hard you work in you Undergraduate life and has nothing to do with which IIT you get into.
As far as placements are concerned, IITK has a slight edge over IITM due to its location and the working of the Placement cell. Since most of the government and private aviation and aerospace research organizations are located in South India, recruiting from IITM becomes easier.
Being one of the oldest IITs, the student life at IITK is great. The atmosphere here is dynamic and conducive for both academic and extracurricular. IITK has great sports facilities with large number of tennis and basketball courts, large hockey and football ground and Olympic sized swimming pool. The student body, Gymkhana is very active throughout the year, There are large number of clubs and hobby groups. You can join any number of clubs and hobby groups and explore your interest and broaden your horizon while having good academics. Since most of the activities in IITK are managed by the students, you get to build good managerial and professional skills. IITK organizes three main inter college festivals- Antaragni(Cult fest), Techkriti(Tech fest) and Udghosh(Sports fest). All these fest are completely organized by students and receive great participation and response. The PORs (Position of Responsibility) range from Event secretaries to Festival coordinators. Besides, we also have Inter hall competitions- Galaxy(cult fest), Takneek(Tech fest), Inferno(sports fest). The atmosphere during these Inter hall competitions is quite electrifying and the best experience during your entire stay at IITK.
Besides this, the faculty student interaction is great. The professors are very friendly and humble. You can easily get to work on projects under any professor in areas of your interest. It is easy to get good recommendations if you maintain even a decent enough relation with the professors.
The student life at IITK is wholesome and something you will cherish even after your graduation from this great place.
Hope this helps.
All the best.

Hello,
The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is conducted by Anna University. The officials have not yet declared the dates for the release of the TANCET 2022 application form. It was expected that the forms will be released in January but it is not yet released. Keep an eye on the official website or the link below for the latest information.

See Food Technology is an applied interdisciplinary field. Although it has industrial need but it have lower placements. As you aren't concerned about that, I would say IIT KGP will be a better choice for you. The institute have good faculties in this field with good research experiences. The infrastructure & the quality of education are just amazing there. IIT GUWAHATI is also good, but from the academic criterion, it don't have that much of field experts as IIT KGP. The lab infrastructure are better in IIT Guwahati but the applied field structure of curriculum are very well designed in IIT KGP. So I would recommend you to go for the IIT KGP for Food Technology.
