Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Hello Kabeer Grover, hard luck bro, but with 8721 rank in IPU-CET 2019, you can't get admission in IITM, Janakpuri. As the cut-off for the IITM college is very high, and closes it's admission for all shifts around 4,000 rank for a delhi General student. So best of luck for the future.
Dear Sakthi,
IIT Madras offers a variety of interdisciplinary courses giving you a wide variety of options. You can always opt for your favourite study field even if your undergraduate degree is of other field. So you can study M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering provided you have the right reason for studying or research.
Dear Dev,
I am sorry to inform you that Indian Institute of Technology Madras does not offer any commerce courses. This is a technological institute so only science and math along with MBA courses are offered here. So I suggest you to search other colleges for your rank in CET paper for B.Com Hons.
Dear Aryan,
Colleges and Universities of National Importance are always ahead of other government or private colleges since the central and state government will allocate a huge amount of money every year for its development. Everything including academics, sports, extra-curriculars, faculty, placements, research will be better there. So in my opinion IITM is the best.
hello murali
you will not get abroad options in campus placements you have to apply for it.
you can give ms exam for gre for further studies or you can get into contact with the professors of foreign university through your college professors.
you can apply for foreign jobs but it should be done after an experience of 2 to 3 years.
all the best
Hello ,
Congratulations. You may get admission in Institute of Information Technology and Management in third round most probably. Although your performance was average you may still get admission here as last year the cut off was around 16k in IPU CET rank. Apply for the counselling process and all the best!
Hi Katravath,
I can provide you 2016, 2017 and 2018 cutoff ranks of IIT Madras (Chemical Branch) for ST category candidates, you can get a clear idea.
In 2016, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 442
In 2017, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 386
In 2018, after the last round-
Closing Rank- 609
Therefore, you need an ST rank around 600-700 to stand any chance of getting Chemical Branch.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
I see that you are saying 6417 rank in general category . This rank I won't say that it is good. But it is also not bad.
And you want to get into IIT Madras regardless of which branch you get. Now if see previous year closing rank for different branch. You will get naval architecture and ocean engineering also dual BTech Mtech metallurgical branch.
So you better see which branch you want to go in.
Thank you.
Hello Ria,
If you got IITM in first round and want VIPS you should not freeze your seat after 1st round. Chances of getting VIPS totally depends upon your rank and cut-off. And chances of getting back IITM depends upon your preference list. If you want IITM back then there should be only VIPS above the IITM in preference list. If there is any other college above IITM and it's cut-off rank is more that your rank you will get a seat in that college but not in IITM back
Hope this helps!
