Is iit madras is better than indian institute of space science & technology, thiruvananthapuram in aerospace engineering?

Arnab Ghosh 24th Apr, 2019
Hi Bharat,
As a college IIT MADRAS is far better but when it comes to aerospace engineering, in my knowledge IIST THIRUVANANTHAPURAM is best college of our nation. ISRO recruits students directly from their & students will get opportunities for internships in well known organisation.
Well, in iist Thiruvananthapuram, their academics is researched based which you help you grow yourself in your life. The faculty members are really good & the exposure of that field is really great.

So, in overall scenario, iist Thiruvananthapuram is definitely best in compare other colleges in India in terms of Aerospace engineering or aeronautical engineering. The college is totally made for aerospace or Aeronautical environment.

Hope you get my point.

Is the percentage of +2play any role in the admission for IIT Madras

Jyoti Mishra 22nd Apr, 2019

Hello Nisha,

There are a number of courses offered in IIT Madras. Since you have not mentioned about the course I am mentioning the eligibility criteria of all those courses offered in IIT Madras.

1. B.Tech: entrance exam is JEE Main and JEE advance. Applicants should have passed higher senior secondary with a minimum of 75% marks to be eligible for the exam. However it will not play any role in determining your rank in JEE Mains.

2. Integrated M.A.: Entrance exam is HSEE. All applicants should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 55% aggregate.

3. M.Tech.: Entrance exam is GATE. Although 10+2 marks are not asked for eligibility but a minimum of 60% marks in bachelor's degree is mandatory for all general candidates, whereas a relaxation of 5% is given for all SC/ST/PH candidates.

4. M.Sc.: admission done on the basis of JAM score. Like M.tech, only bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is essential for being eligible.

Therefore depending on the course you are applying for 10+2 marks maybe needed.

Hope this information was helpful.

Good luck!

required cut off rank to get admission in iit madras for msc in physics??

lakshmi.punati3931 Student Expert 20th Apr, 2019

Hello aspirant,

It is a two step process.  One needs to qualify the JEE Main exam and then take the JEE Advanced Exam.
One must have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12  OR One must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in his/her respective Class XII board examination. Admissions are done on the basis of rank in JEE (Advanced) through JoSAA Counselling

Hope you understand,
Thank you
