Good luck.
Hello dear,
As you have scored 36 marks in gate 2019 in Civil engineering, you have very very less chance to get seat in IIT roorkee as previous year cutoff for Civil engineering is 55 in 100 .
Hello Saurabh,
Nanotechnology is an advanced field and those with M.tech can join engineering firms and research labs. In IIT Roorkee placement scenario in nanotechnology cant be called very good, not very bad though but most of the students prefer to go for research or a Ph.D. or teaching after M.tech.
If you want a good career in India, scope in nanotechnology here is still in the development stage. In India, it is still at the educational level not at the implementation level. Research labs and institutions such as IISc, TIFR, NCBS, and IITs are performing research in this field. If you are interested in working in the industry with Nanotechnology then options are not many. You may find a very few companies working on nanotechnology where you may find recruitment. But if research interests you then you can join any one of the prestigious institutions listed above or move abroad for pursuing it.
Nanotechnology is doing very well abroad in nations such as USA, UK, Singapore, Germany, China, etc in terms of R&D. There has been significant development towards the usage of Nanotechnology in cosmetics, food and textiles and medicines also(Nanomedicine).
Though slowly yet opportunities in this career field are growing. Soon there will be numerous job sectors in which you can be employed such as
Environmental observing, control
Food science including quality control and packaging
Forensics
federal lab research
Military and national security
Energy capture and storage
Electronic industries
Material science including textiles, polymers, packaging, and many more areas.
Hope it helps!

Hello Uday,
I would like to say that, in any institute or college you may study, because every institutes have their own way of teaching, but if you want to know exactly that which is better, then you should ask the individuals who is or who was studying in that institute. You should focus on yourself and your study.
Thanks for query on this platform, you may visit again for further queries.
All the best.
Hi Bhanwar, the cutoff varies every year based on various factors like number of seats available number of test takers difficulty level of exams etc. However going with the past years cutoff, you have very high chances to get through IIT Roorkee and very good chances to get through IIT Guwahati. The cutoffs range around 640 at IIT Guwahati and that around 580 in IIT Roorkee for VLSI course.
