Can I apply for and get a seat in IISERs for my JEE ADVANCED rank at 17000?

zubin916 24th Jun, 2018
Yes great chances for conversion at IIsER campuses as cutoffs below 20000 ranks in Jee advanced.

You can surely convert IISER campuses like Tirupati, Bhopal, Pune.

Chances fot Thiruvanthapuram main campus is low as its most demanded.

Hey gopal, if you are asking about the IISER Cutoffs for SC category , then i would like to tell you that it is 55% for all boards . It may vary this  year due to different factors like the number of seats available , number of applicants etc. But generally , it does not vary much

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) conduct an entrance exam in order to provide admission to candidates in five-year long BS-MS dual degree programme offered by them.

On the basis of a candidate’s score in IISER entrance exam (also known as IISER aptitude test), he/she can secure admission at IISER located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, or Tirupati.

Candidates who have cleared their Class XII in Science stream are eligible to apply for IISER entrance exam 2018.

As per IISER entrance exam pattern there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.

IISER entrance exam 2018 dates are out. IISER Aptitude Test 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on June 24

All candidates who are Indian nationals and belong to Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) category are eligible for IISER admissions 2018. However, admissions at IISER are done through three different channels mentioned below.

It is mandatory for candidates to meet IISER eligibility criteria under any one of the channels for admissions 2018.

IISER Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria under State and Central Boards (SCB) Channel

All candidates who have cleared Class XII exams in Science stream in 2017/ 2018 fulfill IISER entrance exam 2018 eligibility criteria. What about aptitude test for a student appearing 12th with subjects Maths, Physics, Chemistry & Electronics ( No Biology subject)?

Akshay Kadam 31st May, 2018

Makarand admissions to IISER 2018 will be through three channels:

  • Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) – Candidates will be offered admission on the basis of valid KVPY fellowship
  • State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel – Candidates opting for this channel will have to appear in an aptitude test, the details of which are given below
  • Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel – Candidates with valid JEE Advanced 2018 scores are eligible for direct admission

Among these 3 channels, only the students going through the SCB channel have to appear in IISER Aptitude Test 2018. This test comprises of four subjects of equal weightage: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. 15 questions in each subject and gets you +3 marks for each correct question and -1 for incorrect answers.

Even when you don't have biology subject you don't have any other option and needs to give this test. Although questions in Biology will not be so difficult still I can imagine your problem, you can go through the syllabus and look out for some of the topics otherwise the only option you have to score more in the other 3 subjects.
