If you have scored 505 marks in your Class 12, your eligibility for IMU CET will depend not on the total marks but on your subject wise percentage. For undergraduate courses like BTech Marine Engineering or BSc Nautical Science, IMU requires that you have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and at least 60 percent aggregate in PCM along with 50 percent marks in English either in Class 10 or 12. So even if your overall score is 505, what matters is how much you have scored in PCM and in English. If your PCM aggregate is 60 percent or above and you satisfy the English requirement, then you are eligible for IMU CET. If your PCM percentage is below 60, then you would not be considered eligible for technical programs though some non technical maritime courses may have different criteria.
Hey To crack the IMU CET exam , first understand its pattern: it includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (Class 11 & 12 level), English, General Knowledge, and Aptitude . Focus on NCERT books because most of the questions are based directly on them. For additional practice, use MTG’s IMU CET Guide , Arihant’s IMU CET book , and practice previous year papers . For Mathematics and Science, NCERT + reference books like RD Sharma (Maths) and HC Verma (Physics) are very useful. For English, improve grammar and comprehension with books like Wren & Martin and solve mock tests. Aptitude and GK can be practiced through RS Aggarwal (Quantitative Aptitude) and daily current affairs.
In short: Start with NCERT basics , then move to IMU CET guides + PYQs , and practice mock tests regularly. Time management and accuracy are key to cracking the exam.
Hey:)

Hello!
The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) is a competitive exam for admission into courses like B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Tech. Marine Engineering, and others. Since you’re planning for 2026, you have plenty of time to prepare systematically. Start by understanding the syllabus—it typically includes Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and General Knowledge for UG courses. For model papers, you can refer to IMU’s official website, previous years’ papers, and guidebooks available online. Practice is key: solve at least one model paper a week and analyze your mistakes. As you get closer to the exam date, increase the frequency to one paper every two days. This will improve both your speed and accuracy.
