Indian School of Business, Hyderabad Campus
Hello,
One needs to be have passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university to be eligible for Post Graduate Programme in Management from Indian School of Business. In addition to this, there are also requirement of work experience(it differs among applicants, kindly go through website below for this) valid GMAT/GRE score and TOEFL / IELTS / PTE score, this is specifically if the medium of instruction at university isn't English for candidates.
For more details regarding this, you may consider going through the official website of ISB-
https://www.isb.edu/pgp/admissions/admission-prerequisites
ISB Hyderabad provides an executive MBA which is for one year and every executive MBA requires a work experience for at least 2 years.
For the program in ISB also you need at least 24 months of work experience and a GMAT score of 700. Though sometimes they reduce the cutoff but it's suggested to keep your scores above 700 to be on the safer side.
All the very best
Read the school’s website thoroughly, especially all the details related to your post-MBA goals. As correctly stated below, speak to ISB alumni especially those who had similar pre-MBA profiles and post-MBA goals. It really really helps.Practise the standard MBA questions as Why MBA? Why ISB? What after MBA? etc.Be thorough with your essays and your job profile because ISB loves to talk about your work.
Good luck!
Dear Rupa, you need to have atleast 24 months of fullbtime experience by March 31st. So it is mandatory to have work experience. Every candidate is evaluated in Academic Credentials, Leadership Potential and Personal Attributes. They consider your 12th Grades, Graduation grades, Post graduation and certificate scores along with GMAT/GRE scores. However there is no cut off as such. Your letter of recommendationnshould speak for your Leadership skills and achievements.
Hi Ruchi, I think you have a decent chance for both the institutes, considering your NAT score and past academic performances as well. For further details, please look into - NMAT cutoff 2018.
Dear Harsh,
Since you are asking about MBA colleges, I presume that you are currently pursuing an undergraduate programme at ISBF. Now coming to your question, the ISBF website itself mentions that:
" In the recent past, ISBF students have successfully secured admission to the postgraduate programmes offered at various institutes of excellence (based in India) such as the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad; IIM Shillong; and Madras School of Economics (MSE).
However, since some Indian colleges and government job applications may insist on a UGC recognised undergraduate degree, ISBF offers all undergraduate students the option to enrol for a UGC-recognised degree programme with IGNOU. Completing this programme will ensure that students meet the eligibility criteria for any government jobs and postgraduate programmes in India."
So, going by above assertion, it is likely that if you apply to Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad; IIM Shillong; and Madras School of Economics (MSE), you can get an admission. Moreover, you could write to the admission units of these schools to get more clarity.
One pointer, while going for postgraduation, especially in case you are looking for any government job options, you should try to get into a degree programme recognized by UGC. This should open the doors for that irrespective of your UG degree.
Hope it helps.
Students seeking admission to IsBFfor MBA need to apear for imET entry exam and personal interview round for selection
Candidates with CaT or XAT score above 80 percentile and GMAT score above 600 are exempted from IMET emtrance test.
Hi Deepika,
ISB is better than IIM-A but the problem is that for ISB you need a minimum of 5-year pre-MBA experience and the program is for 1 year however for IIM-A there are no such criteria. IIM-A has both regular 2-year program and also 1-year executive program. If you have options then for regular 2-year MBA go for IIM-A and for 1-year executive MBA it's ISB any day.
Good Luck!
