Question : Directions: In the given figure, how many yellow birds are there?

Option 1: 25

Option 2: 32

Option 3: 18

Option 4: 20

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 32

Solution : According to the question we have to find the common region of the circles between birds and yellow and the shaded region is common to both yellow and birds.

The intersection of the circle representing yellow and birds is the number of yellow birds.
So, the number of yellow birds = 25 + 7 = 32

Therefore, the number of yellow birds is 32. Hence, the second option is correct.

Question : If $\tan \alpha=\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}$ and $\tan \beta=\sqrt{3}$ then what is the value of $\cos (\alpha+\beta)$?

Option 1: 0.2

Option 2: 0

Option 3: 0.5

Option 4: 1

Team Careers360 24th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 0

Solution : $\tan \alpha=\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}$
⇒ $\alpha = 30^{\circ}$
$\tan \beta=\sqrt{3}$
⇒ $ \beta = 60^{\circ}$
So, $\cos (\alpha+\beta)$
= $\cos (30^{\circ}+60^{\circ})$
= $\cos (90^{\circ}) = 0$
Hence, the correct answer is 0.

Question : The average of 24 observations is 41. The average of the first 9 observations is 42. The average of the last 16 observations is 39. What is the value of the 9th observation?

Option 1: 14

Option 2: 24

Option 3: 18

Option 4: 20

Team Careers360 24th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 18

Solution : Given,
Average of 24 observations = 41
⇒ Sum of 24 observations = 41 $\times$ 24 = 984
Also, The average of the first 9 observations is 42.
⇒ Sum of first 9 observations = 42 $\times$ 9 = 378 ......(1)
And, The average of the last 16 observations is 39.
⇒ Sum of last 16 observations = 39 $\times$ 16 = 624 ........(2)
Adding (1) and (2), we get,
⇒ Sum of first 9 observations + Sum of last 16 observations = Sum of 24 observations + 9th observation
As 9th observation is counted twice in the first 9 and last 16 observations.
⇒ 378 + 624 = 984 + 9th observation
$\therefore$ 9th observation = 18
Hence, the correct answer is 18.
