I am not sure whether you can appear in re-examination for the course you have chosen. Please contact the examination conducting authority. According to me you could have informed them the reason why you couldn't attend, before the examination itself and asked for re-examination.

If you want to pursue Mcom then Maharshi Dayanand University is indeed a very good institution than IGNOU in my perception. Everything has their own pros and cons. But apart from that the atmosphere and healthy environment is provided in MDU.
