For honours degree in any subject you have to complete 48 credits in that particular subject (which is Maths in your case).
Every subjects has different modules to choose from with 4 or 8 credits assigned to them.

its really cool that you have completed the diploma in civil eng while if you join the CIVIL only you will be admitted to 2nd year in the engineering while if you go for alternative branch the you will be admitted for 1st year

Congratulations!!, According to last years cut offs you will be able to get some branch in vellore or chennai campuses.you can get civil in vellore campus and mechanical in chennai campus according to last years cut off.There are low chances for getting other top branches in both colleges.
