Which is better- mech at nit kurukshetra or industrial design at nit rourkela?

Aratrika_1559127268 Student Expert 5th Jul, 2019

Hi

Well this is a tough decision and definitely you have to take this.

Firstly, if you want to study a Core Branch then definitely Mechanical Engineering will suffice. Then you must go ahead with Mechanical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra.

If you want to study in a good, rank holder NIT then, NIT Rourkela is fit for you. But again, go with this option only and only if you want to learn Industrial Engineering or if maybe you don't have any kind of inclination towards any branch.

This choice making is tough because you are getting a Core and trending Branch in NIT Kurukshetra while a relatively lower desired Branch at one of the best NITs, i.e., NIT Rourkela. Think wisely and carefully.

Best of Luck.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

KanishqVerma 4th Jul, 2019

Hello,

Kindly mention which branch you want to get.

Also you can wait for further rounds if you are not satisfied with branch you got in 1st round .

In later rounds let’s say till round 3,4 it can upgrade and then you can lock if you are satisfied .

It may also upgrade in next round .

Check the previous years cutoff to get better idea.

Is industrial design have good placements in nit rourkela

Adarsh Kumar Singh 16th Jun, 2019

Only a few or none ID related placements are there. If you want to pursue product design then go for higher studies  If you have no specific interest in any subject mass recruiters comapnies are for you.

If you have little good at mechanical then have a  slight chance to crack core comapnies.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with minimum qualifying marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as core subjects. Independent entrance tests for this programme are also held by the various state, central, and private universities which mostly require 50% as the prerequisite to appear for the test.

Admission Procedure-

To get admission into these colleges, you need to give entrance examinations like

-UCCED

-NID-DAT

While some colleges take direct admission after you qualify the entrance, in some, it is followed by a personal interview and portfolio assessment.

Fee Structure-

Fee ranges between Rs. 80,000 to Rs.5 lakhs depending on the institute.

A government college is much better for doing B. Des than private ones in terms of fees because for most of the designing courses, the fees is very high in the private ones.

I hope I was able to provide all the details you asked for. Still, if you want to know anything else, feel free to ask or comment.
