Is production and industrial engineering in Delhi Technological University(DTU) a good choice?

Lasya_1491387620 Student Expert 19th Jul, 2019

HHello Aspirant,

The production and industrial engineering in DTU is good. The production and industrial engineering has a very good scope and application in the real world. If you wish to statrt a industry then it is better choice. This engineering is a addition of mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

This course is considered having less number of placements. In DTU, only 40 - 50% students got placed in previous years.

Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

IIT ROORKEE (PRODUCTION AND INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING) VS IIT TIRUPATI (ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING) Which one is better to choose ?

Shreyasee Das 16th Jul, 2019
Hello aspirant!

It depends on what branch you prefer. According to me, electrical engineering is a better branch since the modern world demands a huge number of electrical engineers. It is the branch that is going to remain with you forever.

Production and industrial engineering is also a decent branch.

I understand your confusion is between a okayish branch in a good ranked  IIT or an excellent branch in IITTP.

Lastly it totally depends on which branch is of your interest .

Hope you make a fruitful decision.

Hello ,i had this in my mind from rlly long that if industrial engineering is a good field and that from vit pune in india or not.

Nil Choudhury Student Expert 12th Jun, 2019
Dear aspirant,
I'll be honest CS is the best possible line with the highest job security. So if you can get a better college or somewhat nearby to VIT then go for it. The median package of vit is 4L per year. And yes no matter what line you chose the first year will have chemistry. After that no more unless u choose chemical.
If your interest in in CS go for it don't look at the college
Else stick with VIT

Which one should i choose industrial engineering in ceg or production engineering in mit?

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 7th Jul, 2019

Hello

Industrial engineering is the branch of engineering that concerns the development, improv

ement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, knowledge, equipment, energy, material and process. Industrial engineers typically use computer simulation, especially discrete event simulation, for system analysis and evaluation. From delivery/logistics companies to eCommerce sites to manufacturing companies to textile industrial to F.M.C.G companies everyone needs them. Industrial engineers are mainly responsible for the proper and the most efficient interaction of 4Ms: Man, Material, Machine and Method (which every organization needs). In short if you are an industrial engineer, you are like a diamond in the human resource market. There is no dearth of jobs.

The mission of production  department is to develop technically competent, socially committed and disciplined manufacturing engineers with creative ability, innovative thinking and managerial skill to manufacture quality products for the benefit of the mankind.     The top recruiters for production engineers include National Thermal Power Corporation, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Aditya Birla, Cairn India, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and Sterlite Industries.

Job profiles available for industrial and production engineers are as follows:

Plant Engineers

Manufacturing Engineers

Quality Engineers

Process Engineers and Industrial Managers

Project Management

Manufacturing, Production and Distribution Ergonomics and Human Factors

Root cause analysis and process improvement

Make/Buy Analysis and Cost Estimation. I would have gone for Industrial engineering in ceg but the choice is totally yours. Make calculated moves and whatever you choose both are really good courses.

All the best.
