Now how is CSE in IEM?? I mean tell me about the placements and studies...

vikashkr894_9303636 Student Expert 18th Jul, 2019

IEM is the topmost private college in West Bengal. The college environment and the education provided here is exactly what any engineering student dreams about.

The faculties are well qualified but it depends on how you do your self-study and improvise yourself. Due to the shortage of time, it is not possible for the faculties to cover the entire syllabus, so you have to take care of that part by yourself.

The placement record of CSE is almost 100%. But in the end, it depends on your knowledge about the subject and how you perform in the interview.

All the best.

Is Iem Calcutta is better than other institutions in calcutta in placement..I did not appear in Wbjee this year..can I get admission in Iem Btech..kindly suggest

anushkasrivastava073 17th Aug, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

IEM Kolkata is a good college to pursue BTech. However, it is not the best. Colleges like Jadavpur University and KGEC are far better than IEM. Also, IEM is a private institute, and Jadhavpur and KGEC are government colleges. But, IEM is one of the best colleges in KOLKATA. If you are getting CS Branch you can definitely go for it.

Since, you have not taken the WBJEE exam, you have to get admitted to that college through the management quota. You can contact the college directly or go through counsellors. However, this method is not advisable . Many counsellors just go on bluffing people. So take your decision wisely.

My wbjee gmr rank is 6317.Can i get IT Or cse(AI &ML) or CSBS in IEM or Heritage

Roshni 15th Aug, 2022

Hi,

In IEM, closing rank for CSE (AI & ML) was 2327, and for IT it was 4016 in round 3 (mop-up 2021).

Heritage however, accepted upto rank 7688 for CSBS, so based on your rank of 6317 you might have a chance of getting Computer science and business in Heritage.

Which is best IEM kolkata cse and business or Techno india university cse and engineering

Roshni 13th Aug, 2022

Hi,

Only academic wise, IEM is a slightly better option than Techno India University.

But here’s what you need to know about both the colleges -

IEM:

• The college is critical about time, you need to bw always on time for lectures and other events.

• The college has discipline, punctuality, and strictness when it comes to studies. There’s a strict dress-code in place.

• The scope and exposure during and after your btech degree is better than many colleges in West Bengal.

Techno India University is much more flexible in case of rules, and dress code. But, in my opinion Techno Main Saltlake is a much much better college than Techno India University in every aspect.

Techno India colleges arrange workshops, seminars, tech fests for hands on practise of the students.

Plus, CSE is anyday a better branch than CSE and business. So I’d suggest go for just CSE.

which is better IEM kolkata or KGEC?

Aditi Singh 27th Jul, 2022

Hello student

We can compare two colleges in different aspects. It usually depends on your needs and requirements or things you expect from colleges.

Following are some aspects by which you can get a clearer picture of both colleges for B.TECH courses.

  1. OWNERSHIP:  IEM-PRIVATE    ;   KGEC- PUBLIC/GOVERNMENT
  2. FEES( 4 YEARS):   IEM-~4LAKHS   ;   KGEC - ~34k
  3. IEM is NIRF ranked. However both are AICTE Approved colleges
  4. Medical facilities: Available for IEM ;  NOT AVAILABLE for KGEC.

You can consider the above points to take your decision.
