To study interior design in undergraduate level you must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board and must score the minimum percentage of marks required by the Institute in order to be eligible. For this you need to study class 11 and class 12. There are diploma courses in interior design which requires minimum 10+2 as education qualification for this you are not eligible and few diploma courses the eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed class 10th so for such Diploma courses you are eligible.
So if you want to study diploma in interior design you can apply for colleges which requires class 10 th as minimum education qualification.

A diploma will be a one or two year course while a degree is a full fledged course usually for four years. It is more detailed, and so has the basic advantage. If we are to look at it from an employment point of view, a degree will help you fetch better jobs with better salary. Of course it also depends on one's knowledge and experience.

But, in case of students who have done a diploma after class 10th as a part of the 10 + 3 pattern of education are also eligible to apply for admission to the course.
The duration of the course can be 1 or 2 years.
