Yes, a candidate who passed in class 12th can pursue interior designing.A candidate must pass class 12th from a recognised board.Few colleges/institutions seek mathematics and physics as a mandatory subject.But there are diploma courses and one year courses available where maths is not required.You can specialise in interior designing as a interior designer in post graduation level.

Yes, there are much better colleges agreed. But if you've got the drive. Hardwork is the key, be it any school/Department.
But students are completely oblivious of comparatively better opportunities in These fields at Gd Goenka University, compared to crowd filling uni like ‘others' in Punjab, Noida, Manesar, Gurugram.
Make a good choice & do go for counselling in uni, they guide what to pick what courses to drop in a field. So you enjoy learning best of what your strengths are.

I'll suggest you to take admission in a crash course that prepares you in respect to the syllabus for NID so that you can secure a good rank.

No you are not eligible for NATA entrance exam since you have not appeared in class 12th exam and it is the main eligibility that you should have appeared for class 12th and mathematics should be you main subject. You can do other interior designing courses.
Next entrance test date would be next year since this year NATA exam has been conducted and date has not been announced now.
The course basically encompasses knowledge of 2D and 3D design, visual thinking, color compositions, design thinking, interior design materials, form and space, graphics and the knowledge of CAD. It will provide a great opportunity to you if you study from a good college. You can get good placements and have a good career growth also as there are not very competitions in the market for this course.
