In government colleges average stipend is around 10k to 20k on monthly basis.

Assam with 30k stipend has highest salary among government colleges.

Also AFMC Pune has around 80k stipend.

But in private colleges stipend is low around 5k to 12k.

Stipend is low around 5k to 15k for government colleges.

Private colleges pay very low or free internship means nothing at all .

Often advanced specialty training is called a fellowship. so, a person does 3 years of residency in internal medicine and then a 2–3-year fellowship in another sub-specialty to become a cardiologist for example.
