I am a Masters in Psychology from Panjab University.I wish to pursue Masters in Psychology in Canada

shwetasaini505_9233227 Student Expert 14th Jul, 2019
Hello Manjeet,

The fact that you have a Master's in Psychology means that you must have studied 5 years (graduation and post-graduation) so that makes you eligible for Master's in Canada as they require 4 years of Bachelor's there.

1. You must have scored atleast 65-70% marks in total to get into top universities.

2. You need to have a good score in IELTS to prove you English Language Proficiency.

3. Most of the universities also require GRE but this depends on the eligibility criteria of the university that you wish to apply for.

So you need to select a few colleges that you are interested in, check theit eligibility criteria and give the required exams accordingly.

You can get detailed information about applying for Master's in Canada using the below link-

Hope this helps.

I have been selected for Work at Australia, is IELTS scores affect my visa and Australia visit?

Priya 5th Jun, 2019
Hello Student!

As you've already been selected for working in Australia ;
Your IELTS score will affect your VISA in a way if you've a score below the minimum requirement.
Which is, overall average score of 5, with a minimum score of at least 4.5 in each band.
But if it's above, it won't affect how much above.

Which one is better in between pte and ielts???? For going australia

sunidhi suri 29th May, 2019
Hey,

The difference in these tests apart from testing English proficiency is that IELTS mainly relies on the Australian and British English, whereas PTE draws more attention on American idioms distinctly.

Generally, IELTS has been acceptable by most of the universities around the world. PTE being the newest is making a great start for students to get accepted in MBA programs all across the globe.

The speaking section of these tests is different from one another. Language skill being a challenge for the test takers, one must consider the test that suits in a best way according to the strengths.

In the IELTS test, one participates in a face-to-face interaction with an examiner, which can be quite comforting for some, on the other hand can cause anxiousness in a few. In PTE you speak into a microphone and the audio is captured by the computer. IELTS is evaluated by a human, whereas, PTE is evaluated by the computer itself.

To conclude, no test can be assumed. Rather, choose the test which will certainly match your comfort level.

What course can a mechanical engineer do in post graduation, by writing ielts?

Mille Sharma 26th May, 2019

Hey, Akhil!

IELTS is an English proficiency exam which a student from non native English speaking country has to give to prove that they have sufficient command over the language to study a course fully/ partially taught in English. A mechanical engineer can choose any relevant stream and apply to it. However, to apply to such Masters programs one has to give GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), for studying in the USA or in some other countries apart from that.

So, you can't apply for a course in mechanical engineering or/and related fields just by giving the IELTS exam; it is just one of the scores required by the colleges/ universities. For more information regarding IELTS and applying to Masters programs, refer to the follwing links:

I am 40 years, i got 6 in ielts, may i eligible to study in abroad

nimrat17799_9532496 Student Expert 1st Jul, 2019
Hello,

Congratulations sir for such good bands. No matter whether you are 40 or 50 but if there is more than 2 years of gap between your study or job then it would be very difficult for you to study in abroad. From the gap i just mean if you were idle that means neither studying nor working then you won't be able to continue your studies further in abroad. If its nor so then i don't think you might have any problem in your path.
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.
