Will my IELTS score of 8.5 add any extra value to my application? Or is it just for the Visa procedures and minimum english requirements?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 9th Nov, 2019

IELTS is a Language proficiency exam for citizens of non native English countries to appear for before entering English speaking countries. Better IELTS score means the opportunities for getting into top Universities widens. And if you ever want to apply for a teaching position abroad, this score gives that advantage.

IELTS is the Language proficiency exam that students have to take while going abroad. This is to check your English skills because US, UK and other countries have English as their native language and we Indians are not native English speakers. So to check our English skills IELTS needs to be written. You will not be entitled for any scholarship if you clear IELTS.

want to study in usa in psychology after my graduation. How much percentage I require to apply for ielts.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 25th Oct, 2019

Dear Nidhi, IELTS is a Language proficiency test taken for checking your Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills as we are non Native English Speakers. IELTS has no eligibility criteria. You can take it irrespective of your Educational qualification and aggregate in your Graduation. So IELTS has got nothing to do with your previous studies. But you need to score a minimum band of 7.5 or more for admission in a decent University. Amy Student Expert 26th Oct, 2019

Hello,

Besides the 5 universities, the British council will help you to send additional copies of your TRF to other institutions as well( maximum of 5). For thus, you need to mention it beforehand while booking the test. You will also need to pay extra for each of the additional universities.
