i got 79.75 percentile in jee ans i qualified in the jee test. can i get a seet in which IIIT college and i am OBC category student

Gregary mathew K.B 24th Apr, 2025

With a JEE Mains percentile of seventy-nine point seventy-five and being an OBC category student, you may have some chances of securing a seat in certain IIITs, especially for less popular branches. Here are some IIITs where you might consider applying:

  1. IIIT Allahabad
  2. IIIT Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram
  3. IIIT Bhubaneswar
  4. IIIT Vadodara

These colleges typically have varying cutoff trends, so it’s advisable to check the previous years’ closing ranks for OBC candidates.

To get a better idea. Additionally, keep an eye on the official counseling process for the most accurate and updated information.

I have a 3-year diploma degree and i participate in jee mains exam. My question is, via this degree can i get addmission into Nit and iiit in 1st year.

Sujal Singh 24th Apr, 2025

With a 3-year diploma, direct admission into NITs or IIITs through JEE Main for the 1st year is not permitted. NITs and IIITs require 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. Diploma holders can apply for lateral entry in other institutions, not via JEE Main.

I had got 140000 rank in open category in jee mains My caste is OBC can i get a free seat in a nit or iiit college?

Rubina Naseer 19th Apr, 2025

With a rank of 140,000 in JEE Main under the OBC category, getting a free seat (i.e., a fully funded or government-subsidized seat) in a top NIT or IIIT is unlikely, especially in popular branches like Computer Science or Electronics.

However, here are some possibilities:

1. NITs and IIITs:

- You might have a chance in newer NITs or IIITs or in less popular branches (like Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) in some NITs.

- The home state quota can provide some advantage, particularly in NITs closer to your home state.

2. Government Funded Institutes (GFTIs):

- GFTIs typically have higher cutoffs than NITs but may have a chance for you in branches with lower demand.

3. Fee Waivers or Scholarships:

- Some private colleges or lesser-known government colleges offer fee waivers or scholarships based on your JEE Main rank.

Recommendations:

- Participate in counseling: Explore options in the CSAB Special Rounds or state counseling.

- Consider private colleges that offer scholarships based on your JEE Main rank.

Can I got addmission in iiit haydrabad obc catagory rank 186820

Akansha Sharma 26th Apr, 2025

With an OBC category rank of 186,820, securing admission to IIIT Hyderabad is highly unlikely. In 2024, the closing rank for OBC candidates in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program was approximately 1,371 in Round 2, and for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), it was around 4,391. These figures are significantly better than your current rank. Therefore, admission to IIIT Hyderabad through JEE Main is not feasible with your present rank.
