Both of the college are good. These two are among the oldest IIITs setup in India. So, you need to check for some other parameters. You can check for proximity or some other factor. If you are from north then jabalpur will be good as the culture will match,
Hello Naveenv495 , For ECE IIIT Jabalpur is better because it is good in terms of placement, academics and all and fees is also approx. same for both colleges but in terms of infrastructure IIIT kancheepuram is better.

Well, SFTIs are Self financed technical institutes or Private institutes, So, definitely SFTIs are not govt. college, but their academics, infrastructure, etc... are good, but, in terms of placements it is good but not like the Top IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs etc...
