Naveenv495 , For ECE IIIT Jabalpur is better because it is good in terms of placement, academics and all and fees is also approx. same for both colleges but in terms of infrastructure IIIT kancheepuram is better.

Well, SFTIs are Self financed technical institutes or Private institutes, So, definitely SFTIs are not govt. college, but their academics, infrastructure, etc... are good, but, in terms of placements it is good but not like the Top IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs etc...

According to the information available at official website of the college it is shown that cutoff for CSE is nearly 7000 and cutoff for ECE is nearly 9000 so you can get admission there as there cutoff for category wise not shown and it is a good college for  ece

You can not get into IIITs with your rank. I suggest you should look for state counselling in the states like Uttarakhand, Punjab in their state engineering colleges.
