CSE and mechanical engineering are widely different. Better depend more on your gut feeling. Listen to your heart. If you know students from both disciplines, consult them. Weigh the pros and cons.

With a general rank of 100K it is quite difficult to get any seat in any nit or iiit.Through Home state quota of nit jaipur also it is not possible to get a seat so you better try to other private engineering colleges.

There are many many factors which will affect your son's decision:
1) Does he want to persue his career in CSE or not: If yes, then he should go for colleges like NIT srinagar CSE or CSE in some IIIT.
2)He is not sure about branch

I am really sorry but that rank is too less to get good IIITs and NITs. Your SC Category rank may fetch you some decent colleges but remember that the competition goes really high. I am sharing a link below,please check the colleges you may expect to get
