For NITs you need at least 95 percentile under OBC category. Also for home state NIT, you can secure seats in Percentile around 94.8 under OBC quota. In terms of rank, you need at least 50k under OBC to get seats in NIT. For surely wait till NTA announce

GATE exam is conducted annually by IITs for admissions to various IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other colleges that take admission through GATE. It is also used for recruitment by PSUs.

IIsc is best for doing research Rather than IIT. 

There are some iits which will provide good facilities for research like IIT Hyderabad, etc. 

If you get admission in IISC it's good, oterwise prefer IIT colleges will hierarchy of research.
