Try to seek advantage of the Home state quota. Usually the cutoff for Home state quota remains bit lower and hence you may get chance there.

On the other hand, try to focus on less popular NITs like NIT Silchar, NIT Agartala, etc.

The reservation criteria of JEE MAIN 2019 included parameters related to home state and other state quota.

This means that a candidate  belonging to the home state will get preference over other candidates in his or her home state university .
