To get admission into nit and iiit only Jee mains is sufficient. Jee Advanced is only for iits. And based on JEE Mains you have many other options even in private engineering colleges. Even for IIST admissions are based only on mains rank. So you can start your preparation

Getting a NIT or IIT is quite tough and so is getting a Government college.
However , you can easily get top private colleges.
If you are ready to study in south,apply for SRM, Chennai and if You want to study in North, apply for Thapar University.
