Essentially, investment bankers are financial advisors to corporations and to governments. They help their clients raise money. That may mean issuing stock, floating a bond, negotiating the acquisition of a rival company, or arranging the sale of the company itself. So, as you might have guessed, you must have knowledge about finance, economics. If you are an engineering student, you can become an investment banker by pursuing BTech in Mathematic and Computing, given that your financial knowledge is very very strong.

There is no specific degree to become an investment banker, with investment banks hiring graduates from most subject areas. However, degrees like economics, business, mathematics and finance can give you an advantage. Financial literacy and confidence with numbers is a prerequisite to be successful in this career. Combination of spreadsheet, accounting and legal skills.

B.com (Hons)

B.A in finance/ Economics.

BBA in finance.

CFA (Charted Financial Analyst) program.

CFA is the beat course for investment banker because most of the top companies hire candidates who have a completed CFA courses.

With undergraduate level qualification,one can get entry in this field and by gaining a good experience of this field  (at least 2 to 3 years )it become essential for the candidate to go for a post graduate course like mba in finance to grow in the field.

Here are a few tips on how to become an investment banker, to engineer the next couple of years and your resume, to better your chances of breaking into Investment Banking. Start Working on Your Resume Early: Investment Banks like all rounders because an Investment Banker is not just a quant jock. He has to balance financial knowledge with analysis as well as client management skills. He has to have a background in working in a team. They like leaders. So make sure you are part of special projects in college and take part in significant team activities. It is also better to focus on excelling in one area, like case study competitions or football, rather than being a jack of all trades. Investment Banks want to SEE consistent academic performance as well as commitment to an outside activity as it shows them persistence and staying power. Look for an Internship: An internship is a great way to get a foot in the door even if it is for an extremely short time or the promise of hours of photocopying. It will give you that all-important insight into how a bank functions. Get Some Training in Investment Banking: Corporate Finance is hard and cracking an investment banking interview will be easier if you do a short training course in Investment Banking

yes, you can be a  investment banker . It is possible even after your graduation , you  can apply in any finance firm as intern and understand the process of being an investment banker or you can do it after your MBA  and to get into it in a easy way search for such internship during your college  ( have to be good in finance field)

Generally,students from BA/BBA/B.Com/CFA  join this course and it is considered as the basic eligibility for Investment Banker course.So check for any other exceptional degree holders can do this or not...But there are lot of oppourtunities for BCA students,you can go for that optional.
