No there is no need to open an account for a student to pay the admission fee of any NITs. There is a SBI DGP branch in every NIT campus. The student has to deposit the admission fee in allowed accounts numbers by the authority of the NIT

Since you are a Sc candidate, the colleges have reserved seats for Sc candidates. For example if a college has a total of 100 seats then only 13 to 14 seats would be reserved for Sc so there is a less chance for you to upgrade your branch
