After the release of admit card one can not change the category. As The results are out, now there is way to change the category in jee main 2020 results.

So unfortunately you can not change your category in jee main 2020 application form now. Even in jee advance

That's not necessary. If you have a job experience and your academics are good , then definitely you can make it to CAT.

But yes scoring well in CAT should be your priority.  As that would cover your gaps between academics.
