JAM Physics
If you are going for the IIT JAM Physics examination, then if you have solved the EMT, Digitial Logic Gates/Boolean Algebra, MECHANICS problem from 10+2 level books, then it would be helpful. So you can think of about 20-22 marks from this. But if you want to score good, then I would recommend you to go for Griffiths for Electrodynamics. Also you should study the Mathematical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics & Analog Electronics particularly, BJT, Diodes, Oscillators etc, in order to get a good score of around 40-60 which can lead you to be an IITian.

If you want to rank 1 in IIT JAM physics, then the thing you need to do is to complete the 90% of the syllabus atleast. Along with the concepts you need to do a lot of question practice from the classical books such as Spiggel Theoretical Mechanics, Girffiths Electrodynamics & Quantum Mechanics, Modern Physics from Arthur Beiser, Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics from Garg, Bansal, Ghosh etc. Practicing from this books will clear your conception and after that follow the previous year questions. Also it would be advisable for you to join a mock exam series online or offline as per your choice so that you get examination ready through out the way of preparation.

Hello,
This year the cut off for general category to qualify in IIT JAM for Physics subject is 26.05 marks. You have scored just above the cut off marks and it is quite difficult to get seat in any institute with such low score. To get seat in a decent institute you need to secure a rank under 1300 in IIT JAM. You may check the previous year cut off for reference

Cut off changes every year depending on total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.
Hello Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great. There are some tips to be followed to score good marks in Jam physics:
By following all these you can score good marks not only in this exam but also any exam.
All the best
Dear Student ,
It is difficult to predict the admission chances as the cut off can change each and every year due to several factors like seat matrix, difficulty level of exam etc.
Well, as per the previous year IIT JAM cut off for IIT Hyderabad , you have good chances to get this college in 1st round as the cut off rank for Physics in ST category was 4111.
To view the detailed cut off, refer this :

Hello Student
IIT JAM is joint admission test for Masters in any of the IIT in India. IIT JAM candidate can do his post graduation in any of the stream of sciences and persue master degree in any reputed IITs. Through joint admission test for Masters candidate can take admission in the pg of science in IITs and in the in Indian Institute of Science and in National Institute of Technologys in India.
Through IIT JAM can you get persue his master degree if he has an overall BSc degree in physics chemistry or any other science stream. After clearing this admission test for Masters he can do his post graduation in Science whether it is in physics or chemistry etc. If a student has done B.sc in physics with good marks then he can sit for Master degree that is
in physics through this admission test for Masters and take admission in any of the IITs's in India for his first graduation in physics.
This will help.
Hi,
Hope you are doing great.
If you want your AIR under 70 then the marks that you need to score in the IIT Jam exam is around 68. However, the competition in IIT Jam is increasing every year, so you have to score as much as you can to make your place in the prominent IIT or IISc.

Dear Nilesh,
Hope you are doing great,
It is determined by your knowledge and concepts on various chapters. If one covers the entire syllabus, he cannot guarantee a seat in IIT. If you did not study anything specifically for Jam 2018 and only took the mock test for JAM as previous year question then you may score average. However, you can easily cover mark scoring and other relatively simple topics. Thermal physics and mathematics, in my opinion, are relatively simple and take less time to cover than electronics, nuclear physics, and electrodynamics.
