As you have not mention your category, I am assuming that you are a general category you need to score more than 85 percentile to get a seat in SPJIMR and more than 95 percentile to get a seat in JBIMS. The percentage of commerce students in IIMs is 18%. The ratio was 23% in 2018,21 percent in 2019 for Commerce students.

All other colleges also have the almost same ratio. But it is true that whether you are from a commerce, science or art background at the end you'll be tested based on your skills and your performance in the entrance exam.

You do have a great number of students having an average academic record in the above Top Management Institutes as well as at IIMs. Some even have a Poor Graduation Score, but again they have the qualities and communication skills to impress at an interview and perform brilliantly in CAT, XAT, NMAT and other Top MBA Entrance Examinations, to overweigh their Poor Past Academic Record.
