Yes studying Architecture course in NIT is better than studying in Private Engineering Colleges in Karnataka. Because the value is more if you study in NITs. To get seat in this course in NITs you should get good rank in JEE Mains Paper-2.

No, to secure a seat in one of the NITs in B.Arch or some of the Best SPAs, Architecture Institutes as well as Some of the GFTIs like BIT Mesra Architecture , being from General Category, you must target atleast 94-95 Percentile in Paper 2, for better Counselling Prospects.

However, with this Percentile you may secure a seat at some of the Private Universities accepting JEE Main Paper 2 Score for B.Arch Admission Purposes.
