It will be more helful for you if you chrck the special eligibility criteria of participating institute.

If you are from general category then you need at least 55%, if you are from reserved category then 50% is required and you can be eligible for the IIT JAm exam.

Even though your chances of selection are pretty low, I would suggest you to apply for the application. There have been incidences when the cutoff was highly different due to the change in the number of students. Don't keep hopes but still try. It won't cost much.
