Yes it is necessary to write and qualify joint entrance examination (JEE) main 2020 to be eligible to write joint entrance examination (JEE) Advance 2020. We cannot use joint entrance examination (JEE) main 2019 score to be eligible to write joint entrance examination(JEE) advance 2020.

See, JEE mains do not accept compartment exam result and most importantly  if you have got less than 75% in your boards then you will not admission  in IITs, NITs,IIITs,and GFTIs.Now, what you should do is give the  compartment exam this year and give improvement exam next year and

Hi Aspirant

No , you cannot appear in JEE-Advance in 2022 because you can appear for this exam two times continuously in two years.

If you fails in class 12th exams than you will have to clear your 12th result as well as JEE-Advance exam before 2021.
