Hii Shashi,

to attmpt in JEE advance one haave to score more than 98 percentile in JEE main.

so this percentile is very low to cross the JEE main cutoff.

am i eligible for jee?cause in 12th our board TS combines the total marks secured in 11 & 12 for 1000 I got 800 but didnt score 75% in 12th

hey kaveri,

the eligibility criteria for JEE mains is you must  have PCM mandatory in their 10+2 or equivalent exam.and candidates need to have minimun 50% marks as aggeregate and even in individual subjects .

the criteria is minimum 50% and not 75 %.

Hii Shashi,

the candidate who will cross the cutoff of JEE main exam will be eligible to give JEE Advance exam.

this year ,according to experts ,the cutoff of JEE main will be 98 percentile aproximately.

Sir, I got 64percentile in Jan jee mains exam can I eligible to write the jee advance exam . ( my caste. ST)

Hey Kunusothu,

With this much score of 64 percentile in January JEE Mains attempt, your chances of qualifying for JEE Advanced examination through ST category is low but you may qualify for this examination if you are lucky from your april attempt if you have performed good there.

Nearly 2.2 lakhs students will qualify for jee advanced and out of which 1.2 lakhs nearly are general category.

And for this you should score more than 85 percentile score ( for safe conditions) and marks you need for 85 percentile is nearly 90 .

Every year 2,25,000 candidates are selected to appear for JEE Advanced .

And 1,25,000 students of General Category appear for JEE Advanced .

Therefore if you belong to General Category, you should get a rank within 1,25,000.

Hey! 72 marks in jee advanced are somewhat less and getting into iist is a bit difficult. With 72 marks I don't think you will be able to get into iist since there are only very limited number of seats and given that it's one of the best space institutes
