JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru
Hello Aspirant,
Comparing two colleges has always been a tough assignment and will remain so. I am comparing both these based on common domains like placements, faculty, infrastructure, etc.
Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering
Founded in 1963, Mysore is a private institution having about 32 courses. It is AICTE identified and placements are top-notch( 76- 85%). It provides a satisfactory essence for study. There are other facilities like library, cate, sports room, gymnasium, med facilities, labs, auditorium, etc. The total number of offers made was around 700-800 every year. There is an upward trend in these offers.
ECE dept earned the second-greatest number of offers. The successful companies that offered several roles to the learners are Microsoft, Sony, Tech Mahindra, Toshiba, Infosys, ITC, Intel, Titan, etc. Fees are INR 76.3 k. The leading salary was INR 32 LPA, standard and lowest were INR 5 and 3 LPA respectively.
Vidyavardhaka Coll. of Engrg. founded in 1997 is a private institution with better infrastructure and faculty members. It has 12 courses. It is a NAAC A grade and AICTE validated institution. Placements are decent as compared to the above college. The salary proposed to the recent pass-out students was smaller as correlated to the salary of earlier passed out students. The firms that came by are Infosys, Parect Solutions, GlobalLogic, Accenture, BSR INFRATECH, Intimetec, Data Core India Ltd., etc. The standard salary offered was INR 3.6 LPA. It has additional hostel and wi-fi campus facilities along with labs, cafes, library, gym, etc., It also provides a promising aura for study. Fees are INR 11 Lakh for all academic years.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.

Hello Ashish,
If you were to take my opinion I would recommend you to kindly opt for BIT Bangalore cse branch because firstly it comes among the top colleges in Bangalore through comedk as compared to the other two colleges.
Secondly, the placements at bit Bangalore would outshine the other two colleges in case of average package in cse branch. The average package in this college is around 5-6L per annum. The faculty and hostel food is average like any other private college. The academic is not a chilled one . You would have assignments and deadlines and they are very strict with that.
I hope this answer helped you out!!
hello,DSCE is autonomous institution while jss is private university. Placements are excellent in both but would recommend Sjce. Speaking about Dayananda Sagar university provides a average placement for mech students.
The branch is good if you have interest in it. Mostly company nowadays allow all the branches to appear the test for on campus placement but there are still some companies who give priorities to CS/IT branches only. So, if you have good knowledge in technical skills then you can get placed in some software companies or if you want to go for core companies then you can keep your knowledge strong in your branch studies. But getting placed depends also on luck factor too. The number of people getting placed from electronics and instrumentation branch in SJCE college is not so good. But if have good knowledge in the field you want to go for, then you might get placed.
All the best for the journey ahead.
The software companies nowadays allow all the branches to appear the recruitment process but still there some companies which allow only CS/IT branches. In SJCE college also, the placement is quite good but that depends on the company which is going to come to the campus for recruitment. There are some core companies too which conducts on campus placement in SJCE college for core branches. But the number of students getting placed in core as well as software companies from electronics and instrumentation branch is not so good. But you can still try to polish your programming skills for software companies and if you are interested in core companies, you need to have strong knowledge in core field too.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Hi,
In Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Overall, 50% of students were placed. Circuit branches had more placement opportunities than non-circuit branches like civil, CTM and mechanical. Brigade was the top recruiting company in Civil Engineering course. Internship opportunities were less. Industrial visits were conducted, and survey class practicals were conducted.
Hope it helps.
Dear candidate Firstly let us focus on Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering stream, it is indeed a pretty good one, various Opportunities to explore your career potential. Now let us focus on SJCE Institute, here your self study and self note is mostly essential. The teachers will give you 100% guidance but you need to utilise it. Placement is offered by multinational companies as well offering package around 6-8 LPA.
