Biomedical engineering is a branch which is not very famous but is also taught in very less colleges. Since you have a decent rank in Kerala entrance, you will definitely get biomedical engineering in any college. It is good to hear that you are specific about the branch that shows your interest. It would be better if you would also have told your category (general, obc, sc, st). Anyways, just fill the counselling carefully and choose from the best college that you can get.

Biotechnology and Biomedical Engg overlap to a certain extent but they are not the same. The scope of both the fields in the future is high.

If you are particularly interested in Medicine, then I would suggest you take Biomedical which deals with innovations in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases with the application of knowledge in Biology, Materials, Processes, Informatics.

The average salary for a graduate in this field is INR 20,000-30,0000 for a fresher per month in India.

Otherwise, you can take Biotechnology that has got wider areas of applications such as in Environmental protection, health care, Agriculture, Mining, Food industrial processing by the application of Engineering and Technology for the benefit of living organisms and biological systems.

The average salary for a graduate in this field is INR 30,0000-35,000 for a fresher per month in India.
