6000 is a good rank in kcet. Since you have not mentioned it I will assume you are from Karnataka itself and from general category. To get Btech in Computer Science from KCET in PES you need to have  a rank within 1500 (general category)  hence I think

for example you scored 260/300 it means you scored 43.33 ((260/300)/2 *100)

and your kcet 78/180 means 21.66% .

total percentage 21.66+43.33=64.99

In KCET, College and Branch allotment broadly depends on a lot of criteria. For Example - Category, Hyderabad-Karnataka region, Rural & Urban Place of living, etc.
