I am trying to fill up Karnataka PGCET form. It is asking me fill marks for each qualifying year. But,I have SGPA system mentioned in my marksheet. How do I convert SGPA into marks?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 27th Jun, 2020
Hello,

Follow the steps :

First, you need to calculate the SGPA of all the semesters.

Once you get SGPA of all the semesters, add them.

Divide the summation of the SGPAs by the number of semesters you have given.

The number you see will be your CGPA.

For example, SGPA of a student for four semesters, I 7.0, II 7.2, III 6.8, IV 7.8

7.0+7.2+6.8+7.8 = 28.8

CGPA = 28.8/4 = 7.2

7.2 is your CGPA.

Here's how you can Convert SGPA to Percentage :

First, calculate the SGPA of all the semesters.

Once you get SGPA of all the semesters, add them.

Divide the summation of the SGPAs by the number of semesters you have given.

Multiply your SGPA with 10 and then subtract 7.5 from the total[(SGPA * 10) 7.5 = Percentage].

Your answer will be in front of you.

For example,SGPA of a student for four semesters, I 7.0, II 7.2, III 6.8, IV 7.8

7.0+7.2+6.8+7.8 = 28.8

28.8/4 = 7.2

(7.2 *10) 7.5= 64.5%

I hope this helps.

minimum gate score required to get qualified in pgcet

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 19th Jun, 2020

Dear,

Firstly, PGCET is an entrance exam that is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to select candidates for MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, M.Arch as well as lateral entry MCA courses offered by various government/university/private aided and private unaided institutions of Karnataka. Also, GATE qualified candidates will be exempt from appearing for Karnataka PGCET. You can directly apply for M.Tech admissions offered by the participating institutes on the basis of your GATE score. Students who have a valid gate score can just submit their score card and a separate merit list will be prepared for them for MTech in Karnataka, they don't even have to and more importantly can't take the exam of PGCET as per KEA guidelines. If your gate score is low, then just click a Non Gate scorer option in PGCET application form and write PGCET.

Hope this helps!

I am doing BCA and into my final years now, just found that Karnataka PGCET is not offering lateral entry for MCA which is making it a 3 years course now. So will it be worth doing it for 3 years or there are better alternatives than this ?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 17th Jun, 2020

hi,

according to latest aicte NEWS , it comes to know that aicte has given permission to lateral entry admission of students in mca second year, who are from bsc IT or bsc CS or bca background, so you may search for other colleges where lateral entry mca admission is available apart from karnataka pgcet, some of the best mca colleges in india,

Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune

Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi

University Of Hyderabad, Hyderabad

National Institute Of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra
