What is the fee structure for govt seat in kmc manglore? How much marks should I score to get a govt seat there?

Amita Jain 4th Jan, 2018

Hi Sudarshan

Official data for fee structure of 2018 hasn't yet been released, but it is expected to remain on the lines of 2017 admissions. In 2017, the annual tuition fee for Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Mangalore for Government Quota seats was INR 77,000/-.

As per the second part of your question, I will again give you 2017 lowest score which got admission on Government Quota seat in KMC, Mangalore, to give you an idea of marks needed to get government seat. In 2017, the last rank which got admission on government seat in KMC Mangalore got a score of 397 (out of 720). However, note that the score needed changes every year with fluctuations in difficulty level of the exam, preparation levels of other students, number of aspirants, etc. So, I suggest, aim higher so as to fall in a comfortable zone and secure your chances of getting an admission.

I hope it will help.

All the best!

My son is a US citizen with a PIO card holder. Is he eligible for writing NEET and applying for KMC in management (general) quota

Mainak Bardhan 28th Dec, 2017
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has notified about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate 2018 that this year foreign national aspirants need to take NEET, according to Supreme Court orders passed last year. Iam providing you  a list of points that NRI (Non-Resident Indian), OCI (Overseas Citizen of India), POI (Person of Indian origin) and foreign nationals need to keep in mind before applying for NEET 2018

Keep your identity proof ready:NEET 2018 notification has made an Aadhaar card mandatory for all Indian nationals (except Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir) to apply for the examination. However, NRI/OCI/PIO aspirants who dont have Aadhaar cards with them will have to keep their passports ready as identity proof. While filling up the form, aspirants need to provide their passport number and carry the same while taking the examination.

No NRI quota in medical colleges:Before NEET was regarded as the single entrance examination for selecting candidates in MBBS/BDS courses across the country, there were a certain percentage of seats reserved for NRI candidates. NEET 2018will not provide any quota to NRI students in any of the medical institutes. NRI/OCI/PIO aspirants will get a chance to compete for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, only after they appear for NEET 2018. Whether there will be any seats reserved in the state quota seats will be decided by the respective state medical authorities at the time of counselling.

No admission based on board marks:Until last year, the NRI/OCI/PIO candidates got admission based on their scores in standard 12. But after the Supreme Court order making NEET mandatory for admission in MBBS/BDS courses last year, theforeign medical aspirants were left stranded. A sizeable number of students had to surrender their seats midway, as their admission stood cancelled due to the court order. This year, there will be no skipping NEET. Foreign aspirants have to take the examination to be eligible for counselling rounds conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) and state medical authorities. For foreign aspirants, the biggest concern will be to compete against aspirants from India, due to the difference in study material and syllabus.

No clarity over admission in deemed universities:Although there is a mention of counselling of private institutes through state medical authorities in the official notification, there still is ambiguity about process of admission for deemed university/institutes. Due to the constant flip-flop of rules and court orders, medical aspirants were kicked out of various deemed universities last year. The petition filed by students is still pending in the Supreme Court, the judgment of which was scheduled on January 30, 2018. With no clarity over the admission process, the counselling procedure, and quota of seats in deemed universities, foreign candidates have to be very careful before taking the exam.

Selection of cities as examination centre:The notification issued by CBSE has listed 80 cities, where NEET 2018 will take place across the country. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have the most number of cities (6) as test centres. Foreign aspirants must make sure that they make their choice of three test centres wisely while applying. Prior arrangements should be made to avoid trouble at the last moment before taking the examination.

You have to score really well in NEET PG then only you can expect a PG seat in KMC Manipal or Mangalore. Your current place of MBBS has nothing to do with it. But of course , as your current college is amongst top colleges of India so consider it as a great morale booster that now you can clear NEET PG too with your confidence & smart study & target based strategic preparation. which medical college shall I choose, whether KMC Mangalore (Selection through KEA) or BMC Bangalore or MMC Chennai?

Srivat Raj 30th Nov, 2017
Hi

MMC is a medical student's dream. It is one of the oldest colleges established in 1856. Situated in the heart of Chennai unlike many other government colleges which are seen in the outskirts of the City. An admission would never be easy in MMC, you must score above 560+ in NEET if you are not from Tamil Nadu.

KMC Manipal ranks itself top 5 medical colleges and top 3 in research oriented aspects. Serene environment encourages many students to join KMC and experience the wonderful city of Mangalore

BMC Bangalore Medical College is a leading medical institution in Kanata Kansas. Known for its reputation in teaching, popular choice among the students of Karnataka

Kindly compare the colleges in the link given below,

review about kasturba medical college, Mangalore

Anonymous 1st Nov, 2017
KMC is one of the most prestigious and oldest college overall whether it is related to faculty, facilities, environment etc but as per my view it would be better if you work really hard to get admission in top Govt colleges like MAMC, UCMS, AFMC, KGMU because the only drawback of KMC is its very high fee structure but if financial you are very strong then it would be a very good choice to pursue MBBS from there. Apart from this, its completely upto your interest, score and convenience which you should consider before you choose any college.

How much marks in meet to get KMC MEDICAL COLLEGE MANGALORE

Arika Sangeeta DSouza 25th Oct, 2017
Hi Shubham! The cut-off rank for KMC Mangalore in All India Quota Counselling for 2017 was AIQR 491574 after Round 2(not after Mop Up Round). In order to secure an admission, you must get atleast 510-520. More than worrying about marks, I suggest that you focus on the preparation for the exam.
