see most of the colleges of west bengal takes admission based on wbjee score , which is the state entrance test, comparatively lower seats are available based on jee main exam. now there is some private university which has own entrance test for admission in b.tech in biotechnology course.

see st Thomas college of engineering is a private college under maulana abul kalam ajad university of technology, kolkata. where IIEST shivpur is centralized institute and comes under government college. IIEST college is far more better than st thomas college or any other private colleges in west bengal. iiest
