how much I can score with just ncert in kvpy SB stream chemistry?

Srishti Sarkhel 6th Dec, 2020

Greetings!

No! They are not.

NCERT helps you to build concepts, understand the subject when you are studying it for 1st time, for better score in KVPY you must read some peripheral material for physics you have to read H.C. Verma for strengthening your concepts, solve the numericals from it, you may refer D.C. Pandey or any other book which is standerdized for IIT-JEE or Medical entrance exam preparation.

For chemistry, the case is similar to physics, reading organic in detail is more important here, inorganic and physical chemistry is more or less same in all books and is the matter of revision only, but organic chemistry needs some focused solving and practice to master, so better focus on it.

I hope this was helpful. Thank you!

Subhrajit Mukherjee 26th Nov, 2020

If you have a well preparation of NEET or JEE Mains level then you will definitely do well. The key facts for physics is to have a imaginative mind , logical thinking and application of concepts. JEE and NEET both offers more or less logically intricate problems so with that you can solve problems in kvpy quite a lot.

I would also recommend you to have good info about theories so that you can attempt more conceptual problems if any come into the exam. Also practice a lot so that you can coup up the speed as a result your accuracy and speed both will increase.

How many questions I can solve in kvpy SB stream Just by ncert?

Gbharath Raj 22nd Nov, 2020

*This is suggested to use some other reference books along with NCERT Books .However, NCERT books are the most preferred for national level competitive exams as these books comprise of topics in easy language which helps to grasp them well.

*But reference books are useful for practicing with various questions related to a topic. So, you should use some reference books and solve previous years KVPY question papers to prepare well.

* And if your target is 90+, I would firstly suggest you to practice previous year question for JEE. Generally physics and chemistry are not so much tough but mathematics is. Chemistry questions mostly comes from NCERT dont worry if you have a clean and clear concept about that,

*Try to score as much possible in the 1 mark problems and then for the 2 marks, choose physics and chemistry unless you are too much confident in maths.

*The main work you need to do, to maximising your score is the time management. And ensure that by the time you appear for the exam you have finished the entire JEE syallabus . Don't worry questions will not be as tough as JEE advance.

Hope it helpful
