I wanted to do diploma in cyber law im in LLB 2nd year

Saurabh Yadav 19th Apr, 2025

Hii,

You’re in your 2nd year of LLB and want to pursue a diploma in cyber law. It’s a smart move to specialize early, especially in a field like cyber law, which is in demand due to rising cybercrimes and digital transactions. Since you’re interested in flexible options (based on your previous query about LLB programs with low attendance in Kolkata), I’ll keep this concise and focus on practical advice tailored to your needs.

You can enroll in a cyber law diploma while studying LLB, as many programs accept law students, though some may require you to be in your final year or have a degree—check with the institute. Most diplomas take 6 months to 1 year and cover topics like cybercrime, data privacy, IT Act 2000, and e-commerce laws. They’re offered online or part-time, so you can balance them with your LLB. This will boost your career prospects in law firms, tech companies, or government roles (like cybercrime units or Public Prosecutor, aligning with your interest in government exams).

Here are some good options:

  • Asian School of Cyber Laws (Pune): 6-month online diploma, ~5,000–10,000, industry-focused, open to law students (confirm eligibility).
  • IGNOU: 6-month to 2-year PG Certificate in Cyber Law, distance learning, ~8,400, flexible, widely recognized, exam centers in Kolkata.
  • Government Law College (Mumbai): 6-month online/part-time certificate, ~10,000–15,000, reputable (check if 2nd-year LLB is eligible).
  • NLSIU (Bangalore): 6–12-month online certificate, ~15,000–25,000, prestigious, great for government exam prep (confirm eligibility).
  • Symbiosis (SCDL): 6-month online certificate, ~10,000–20,000, flexible, industry-aligned.

In Kolkata, check University of Calcutta or WBNUJS for short-term cyber law courses (online or part-time). IGNOU or ASCL are your best bets for flexibility and affordability.

Hello, I have completed my law graduation from Amity University Gwalior. I want guidance on what government exams can I give now as I found there are different requirements for different government exams. My strong point is law. I am not aced in reasoning related subjects.

Saurabh Yadav 13th Apr, 2025

Hii,

As a law graduate from Amity University Gwalior, here are key government exams you can pursue, focusing on your strength in law and minimizing reasoning:

  1. Judicial Services (PCS-J) :
    • Eligibility : LLB, 21–35 years (varies by state).
    • Exam : Prelims (mostly law, minimal reasoning), Mains (law-focused), Interview.
    • Why : Law-heavy; reasoning is basic (10–15% in prelims).
    • Tip : Study IPC, CrPC, Constitution (e.g., Ratanlal for IPC). Practice basic reasoning MCQs (1 hr/week). Check MPPSC for MP Judiciary.
  2. All India Bar Examination (AIBE) :
    • Eligibility : LLB, no age limit.
    • Exam : 100 MCQs (open-book, law only, no reasoning).
    • Why : Purely legal; qualifies you for practice and prosecutor roles.
    • Tip : Use BCI material, bare acts. Check allindiabarexamination.com.
  3. Public Prosecutor/Assistant Public Prosecutor :
    • Eligibility : LLB, advocate enrollment (some states), 21–40 years.
    • Exam : Law-focused (criminal law), minimal/no reasoning, interview.
    • Why : Suits your criminal law strength.
    • Tip : Master CrPC, IPC, Evidence Act. Check state PSCs (e.g., MPPSC) or UPSC.
  4. SEBI Grade A (Legal) :
    • Eligibility : LLB, up to 30 years.
    • Exam : Phase 1 (basic reasoning, law), Phase 2 (law-heavy), Interview.
    • Why : Law is key; reasoning manageable.
    • Tip : Study Company Law, SEBI rules. Skim RS Aggarwal for reasoning.

General Tips :

  • Prioritize PCS-J and AIBE for least reasoning.
  • Use bare acts, Universal Guides for law prep.
  • Check notifications on mppsc.mp.gov.in, upsc.gov.in, or sebi.gov.in.
